こちらのワイン名「アルテニ・ブラッシカ」のアルテニはその昔、ランゲ地域の果樹園の周りに配されていた小石でできた壁を指し、ブラッシカは春に畑に咲く黄色い小花の名前に由来しています。アルテニ・ディ・ブラッシカは、バルバレスコとセッラルンガに位置する、西から北西、東向きの計約3.5haの畑のブドウで造られます。16～18度に温度管理されたステンレスタンクで約4週間かけて発酵し、バリック樽で6ヵ月間熟成。この間にマロラクティック発酵を行います。

ガヤが造るワインの中で最も生産量の少ない、稀少な白ワイン。とろけるような完熟果実の風味に、スパイスやハーブ、オークのニュアンスを纏った、洗練されたスタイルが魅力です。

The 2017 Langhe Alteni di Brassica (a pure expression of Sauvignon Blanc) offers tonic freshness, zesty citrus, white peach and crushed oyster shell. The harvest came early in this hot growing season with the grapes coming off the vines as early as August 17th. That early picking date served to keep the aromas fresh and the fruit crunchy. Gaia Gaja tells me that the fruit was super concentrated in this vintage, and the clusters were so small she called them "bonsai grapes." In addition to the concentrated aromas, the wine also shows a level of freshness that comes as a very pleasant surprise. Evidently, the acidity was also concentrated into those tiny berries.
