Offering up aromas of beeswax, pear, waxy citrus rind and macadamia nut, the 2008 Brut Vintage Cuvee Royale is medium-bodied, tangy and somewhat ephemeral, even when tasted from magnum. It's a rather meager wine that appears to antedate Joseph Perrier's recent improvements in quality.
