A remarkably intriguing mingling of maritime elements - salt, alkali, kelp - scent the Jadot 2007 Grands-Echezeaux, along with lightly-cooked red fruits and roasted red meats. This features and intensification and complication of severak themes found in the corresponding Echezeaux. There is considerable density for the vintage; fine-grained tannin; but a slight sacrifice of primary sweetness of fruit in its modest finish, and I am skeptical that it will last nearly as long as that ostensibly lesser sibling.
