The 2021 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru, matured in 50% new oak, takes time to unfurl on the nose: brambly red fruit, undergrowth, just a touch of liquorice and sea spray. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, well-judged acidity, more open than previous vintages, supple and very pure on the nish. Wonderful. Four barrels produced - the maximum produced from their holding.
