The 2002 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru has quite a bold and vigorous bouquet that misses the delineation of other 2002s. There are attractive red fruit and liquorice aromas but it needs more clarity. The palate is mediumbodied with chewy tannin, fine weight in the mouth but the finish feels static and lacks energy. Tasted at Sarah Marsh MW’s 2002 Red Burgundy tasting.
